Every one of our pods is a genuine RAF Search & Rescue Sea King — the famous yellow helicopters that spent decades plucking people off hillsides and out of the sea. We've converted them into one open-plan cabin you can actually sleep in: a double bed at the tail, a set of bunk beds, a small kitchenette and a dining spot for two up in the original cockpit, dials and all.
Let's be straight about what this is: a back-to-basics glamping adventure, not a hotel. There's no hot water or heating inside, and you bring your own bedding and towels. What you get instead is a night inside a real piece of aviation history, on the camping field at North Yorkshire Water Park, with showers and toilets a short walk away and 21+ activities on your doorstep. Bring warm layers, a sleeping bag and your sense of fun — you'll leave with a story.

From rescue missions to slow mornings
These aircraft spent decades in service. We've kept everything that makes them special — the airframe, the cockpit, the character — and turned the inside into somewhere you can actually stay the night: a double bed, bunks, lighting and power, and a view worth waking up for.
